Description Question: What about theatre space? I mean do you think The Young Vic is the ideal space for Shakespeare or is there another one? Answer: I think the Swan, and I know it's thrust. The Swan works if it's treated in the way that it should do, be treated which is it doesn't become a proscenium arch theatre, you know, which is what happens. I mean it was designed so that you could not have huge get-ins, you could not have huge amounts of scenery, it's designed with a very small access, you know and I think that that's right, it was supposed to be you know like The Globe. I guess the Globe is the nearest to the ideal Shakespeare space and you know I haven't been, no I haven't, but my daughters have both been and they've loved it, they've come back raving, they've been little groundings, you know, standing and I've thought they'd be bored stiff but they haven't.
