Description	:	Question: I'd like to move on now to look at some specific productions and you mentioned briefly Two Gentleman of Verona, are there any other productions that sticks out in your mind? Answer: A Winter's Tale. Which was in the round at The Young Vic and I think was probably one of the most beautiful productions I've ever designed, probably ever seen, I thought it was beautiful. I have a photograph of Trevor Eve lying in the middle of this circular wooden floor, very simple, and it was brought to life by a few props that we brought on and off and I thought it was a fantastic production. Brilliant cast, very happy cast, very successful production. And I think often as a designer as well, you know, if the production is a happy production it makes you look at it through rose-tinted glasses and even if it's, you know. I mean lots of people will remember me for The Merchant of Venice which was not a wonderfully happy production and I actually found the set a bit cumbersome really in the end, it got stuck, you know it got stuck in the state of wherever it was rather than the intimate kind of home scenes and it would have been better I think it would have been more adaptable. I got stuck with that, you know. I think that was probably me, if I'm honest, experimenting with the idea of moving away from working in the way that David works as well, you know, putting my foot down and saying I want to design this very rigid and see how it works and it didn't work for us and maybe that was a bit of a turning point for me and David as well, sort of, I don't know.
