Question: Do you think there is an ideal space for the performance of Shakespeare specifically? Answer: For me I would go back to, again, to The Other Place because it's a very simple, very, kind of, clear way of presenting plays and stories, I think, and that Shakespeare requires very little but I think one of the things that it works well with is a kind of close proximity audience and a situation where you rely more on the actors' guile if you like rather than the producer's kind of guile. |
