Short Desc Fifth video interview clip with Theatre Designer Fran Thompson
Description Question: You've worked with the same directors, in particular David Thacker, on a number of occasions. Do you evolve a working method that is different from the way you would work with someone else that you didn't know as well? Answer: It's faster very often. So, for example, when we were working on Coriolanus, say right towards the end of our working together, we were literally saying, "right ok, so we want to transpose it, which period of England shall we put it into, is it going to be Crimean War, is it going to be First World War, is it going to be this war, you know, which context are we going to put it in?" Because we have worked on Shakespeare so many times together and we have a fundamental agreement that he was living at changing times, it's important to put it into a context where huge social changes are happening. We have done all of that, it's like we are building on big foundations that have been laid already over the years and that we are just building a new kind of architecture on top.
