Short Desc Tenth video interview clip with Theatre Designer Fran Thompson
Description Question: Is there a Shakespeare production that sticks out in your mind in terms of the way it was designed or the response that it got or, is there one that you hold close to your heart? Answer: Well, I'd have to say Coriolanus probably, but I also think Julius Caesar as well because it was a promenade production, it was, the production that David and I always wanted to do when we did it together at The Young Vic about ten years before, or several years before, and then when we did it the second time we were able to do the promenade production at The Other Place, and I was able to design a different environment for everywhere it went, so that in The Other Place it was promenade, when it went on tour it was within a module and more like an arena, a political arena, and then when it went to the Tokyo Globe, I completely floored over the auditorium and it went into another situation again. So it was constantly, it was basically the same idea but it was redefining itself depending on the environment and I really liked that, it has a life about it.
