Short Desc Fourth video interview clip with Theatre Designer Fran Thompson
Description Question: At what point does the relationship between your work integrate itself with the work of the director. Is it happening alongside? Answer: I feel there are times I need contact and times I need space on my own to think about it. Because I was working with David Thacker and to a certain extent with Tony Clarke another director I have worked with and enjoyed working with, I have worked with them a few times now, you develop a kind of shorthand. But I find that initial meeting when I've read the text and I come and talked to the director all-important. Do we really understand it in the same way and are we going to have a similar approach? And it's almost like, I feel it's like sometimes the picture is completely in focus and that's amazing when that happens, and sometimes it's out of focus and that meeting is somehow to bring it into focus and to be able to know we are travelling along the same route, conceptually.
